India develops the world's cheapest laptop at a very low price of only $35.

India develops the world's cheapest laptop at a very low price of only $35. The buzz on the Internet is all about this new $35 laptop developed by India, India's human resource development Minister Kapil Sibal displayed a low-cost computer device that will design for students. He says his department has started talks with global manufacturers to start mass production. The cheap laptop motherboard, its chips, processor, and connectivity all of which cost currently around $35, including memory, display, everything, he told everyone at a news conference.
He said the $35 touchscreen gadget was packed with Internet browsing, PDF reader and video conferencing abilities but, its hardware was created with sufficient flexibility to incorporate new components according to the user's requirements.
Sibal said that Linux-based $35 laptop is expected to be introduced to the higher education institutions at about 2011 but, the main aim was to drop the price further to about $20-$10 ultimately.
The $35 laptop device was developed by a research team in India's premier technological institution, the Indian Institute of technology and the Indian Institute of science.
The Indian government has spent about 3% of its annual budget on school education and has improved the literacy rate to over 64% of its 1.2 billion population but, please have shown many students can barely read or write in most state run schools with an adequate facilities.
