How To Access Hidden Regional Themes in Windows 7

Windows-7-Button.jpgThe new Windows 7 OS offers you some location specific Aero themes based on the language and location you pick during installation.  We will take a look at accessing all the other hidden themes from different countries installed on your Windows 7 computer.

When you first start the Windows 7 installation the first thing you will do is select a language, time and currency format.  This is where Windows determines what themes you’re presented with by default.

If your from the US you're presented with location specific themes from the United States with desktop backgrounds such as scenery from Oregon, Maine, Idaho, etc.

If you want to access all the other international themes you need to copy and paste the following path into the search box and click on Enter.

C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT

 Themes4.jpg

Within the MCT folder you will find many additional themes for Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and South Africa.

If you want you can go in and just grab the Wallpapers there...

Or you can go into the Theme folder double click on the the thumbnail to add it to your list of My Themes.

As you can see I've added all of them and now they will be available under the My Themes section so you can change them from time to time.

This is a cool little How To that will let you customize your Windows 7 background Themes with hidden Themes already installed on your computer.  Note: you can goto Microsoft site and download more Windows 7 Themes.
