Wrist Phone: WRISTOMO a new Wrist
Phone built by Seiko.
Japan's DoCoMo is to begin marketing
the WRISTOMO, the world's first commercial wristwatch-style
Personal Handyphone System (PHS) mobile phone. An
actual waterproof wristwatch, the phone opens up into
a functional PHS handset when buttons on either side
of the watch face are pressed.
The WRISTOMO is compatible with the
"PALDIO E-mail" service, which enables users
to connect send/receive e-mails up to 6,000 alphanumeric
characters via the Internet without having to sign
up for a provider.
The Wristomo Wrist Phone unique design
lets users transform it into a handset. The phone
supports web browsing with up to 64kbps. Wristomo
can receive and transmit Emails with maximum size
of 3,000 characters. The Watch can synchronize with
MS Outlook via a data cable.
CNN reports that the Wristomo watch
sold over 1,000 times in the first 20min. at the DoCoMo
Web Site. The waterproof wrist phone watch, which
sells for $318, proved so popular when it was offered
for sale May 7 on the company's Web site, DoCoMo reported
that it had sold the first batch of 1,000 in less
than 20 minutes.

The size of the Wrist Phone is 171.5x40.4x18.5mm,
and it's weight is 113g. It is even water-proof.
It supports continous talk-time for 120min. and 200
min. standby.
