a
Windows Me Microsoft Backup:
By Raymond, WebTechGeek.com -
Microsoft Backup is no longer an option
during Setup. It also does not appear in the Add/Remove
Programs Properties tool in the Control Panel. Instead,
it's now hidden on the Windows Me CD. To install it, access
the Addons\MSBackup folder on the Windows Me CD and run
the Msbexp.exe executable file. Once the installation
completes, you'll be prompted to restart your system.
You'll then find Microsoft Backup shortcut on Start >
Programs > Accessories > System Tools menu.
Windows Me, Hidden Treasures:
By Raymond, WebTechGeek.com -
If you're using Windows Me, just dig around
a bit and you will find a few hidden treasures that are
worth seeking. The Compressed Folder feature, You no longer
need to download and use WinZip to create file compressed
archives on your hard drive. It's built right into Windows
Me. To create a Compressed Folder in Windows Explorer
or My Computer, just pull down the File menu, choose New
and select the Compressed Folder command. After doing
so, you'll see a folder icon with a zipper on it. Furthermore,
the Compressed Folder feature is completely compatible
with the ZIP file format. You can even encrypt your compressed
folders to protect your confidential data.
Life

Windows Me has a feature called
System Restore:
By Raymond, WebTechGeek.com -
Essentially, it lets you restore your computer
to an earlier time to just before you committed that "fatal
error," or if you can't remove all the file for a problem
program, for example. This is a grate backup feature,
It can restore your computer to a earlier working system.
But it can tie up your processor, memory, and hard drive
space by saving your configurations for potential restores.
Luckily, there's an easy way to opt out. I don't recommend
that you disable it, But this is how you can. To Disable
system restore Click Start. Choose Settings. Select Control
Panel, then System. Click the Performance tab. Choose
File System, then Troubleshooting. In this window, click
Disable System Restore. Click OK.
Game
Demos!
Windows Me Game Demos:
By Raymond, WebTechGeek.com -
When you install Windows Me, the introduction
screen provides a link to the Interactive CD Sampler.
Since this is actually a big commercial for Microsoft
software, most folks simply ignore it. However, several
game demos that are worth investigating are buried deep
in the marketing material. Rather than having to wade
through all this hype, I've discovered a way to quickly
access and install the game demos.
To start, insert your Windows Me CD into
the drive. As soon as you do, the introduction screen
appears, click the Browse this CD link. Doing so launches
a My Computer-style window. When the Folders pane appears,
click the plus (+) next to the CD sample folder and then
click the Setup folder. When the contents of the Setup
folder appear in the right pane, locate and double-click
the Trials.exe file. As you can see, from this screen
you can click the title icons to install demos for the
following games: International Football 2000, Pandora's
Box, Pinball Arcade, Motocross Madness, Entertainment
Pack: The Puzzle Collection.

these tricks. First, right-click on your toolbar and choose

the toolbar to remain on top. When a new window opens,
it will never cover the toolbar. Auto-hide Click this
