With the Western Digital 500 GB My DVR Expander for TiVo HD and Series3™ high def DVRs, you can increase the recording space of your TiVo DVR. Once it's plugged into the eSATA port on your TiVo box, this DVR Expander will be "married" to your DVR,* adding 65 additional hours of HD recording space (or up to 600 hours of standard definition recording capacity). It's the easiest way to get more out of your high-definition entertainment.

The new TiVo update is designed to work with E-SATA drives, specifically at the moment the Western Digital My DVR Expander. This 500GB hard drive can store up to 600 hours of standard-definition (SD) or up to 65 hours of high-definition (HD) television programming. It can also store broadband content that TiVo makes available through TiVoCast partners, including movie and TV downloads via Amazon Unbox on TiVo. The drive itself is available now.

In order for you to connect your My DVR Expander to your TiVo, you must first have a TiVo Series3 HD or TiVo HD unit that is running software version 9.2 or later.
