Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder:
By Raymond Garcia
7/11/05

The Panasonic MiniDV Camcorder is my new tech toy. I've wanted to buy myself a MiniDV Digital Camcorder for a long time, but there are so many to choose from. I finally decided on the Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder. I've read many good reviews for the Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder. So I decided to buy it, and I'm glade I did. I'm very happy with my first Digital Camcorder the Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder.

The Panasonic PV-GS250 3CCD MiniDV Camcorder is very small, small enough to fit in the palm of your hand (1.1 lbs), but has many features. The Panasonic PV-GS250 is equipped with a 3CCD imaging system, high-powered digital still capability and very easy to use.

This Panasonic camcorder incorporates the same type of 3CCD imaging system used in Panasonic's professional camcorders. Individual CCDs are used to reproduce the red, green and blue colors that compose an image for vivid, true-to-life pictures with remarkable full depth and presence.

The Panasonic MiniDV Camcorder uses Optical Image Stabilization, which compensates for any shaky hand movement, so that every shot if beautifully crisp and clear. The Panasonic MiniDV Camcorder also includes a manual focus ring giving the user more control over the video being captured. It also includes a Soft Skin Detail function that detects different skin tones and softens the focus to create a realistic blend.

It's a digital camera too! The 3.1-megapixel PV-GS250 features a 10x telescopic optical zoom lens, a 700x digital zoom that allows for amazing 700:1 clear, close-ups from wide angle to full telephoto zoom and a Macro Zoom feature, which lets users shoot extreme close-ups at distances as near as 16 inches. Digital still pictures are stored on a SD Memory card (not included). It also has a built-in flash, zoom in/out function.

It's easy to Transferring recorded video to a PC via the USB port included. The PV-GS250 supports USB2.0 High Speed enabling real time video transfers and has miniDV outputs to maximize compatibility with the PC. It also has A/V input/output, including S-video. The software to transfer video to the Pc via USB was very easy to use.

The listed price is $1000.00 (remember it's a digital Camcorder & Camera), but if you do a little Internet price searching on it you can save $200. if not more.

Conclusion: I highly recommend the Panasonic PV-GS250 MiniDV Digital Camcorder for your first and last MiniDV Digital Camcorder. You can click on the the pictures below to enlarge.
