WinMX

 

WinMX - is a file sharing utility that connects to various servers. WinMX allows you to connect, download, and share files with MILLIONS of other users through the decentralized WinMX Peer Network. You can share media files, graphic files and other types of media. This client is extremely easy to use; simply install it and the server list pops up immediately on startup. Connect to a server and start searching for files!

It allows you to simultaneously connect to many established networks based on the OpenNap and Napster protocols. This means more users and more search results than other sharing programs. It also supports any file type, allowing you access to a diverse assortment of shared video and picture files as well as the usual mp3 audio files.

You connection to the network happens as soon as you start the program. The connection window has changed from the last version. Whereas before it displayed an entire list of all the servers its connecting to, this time they've made it look a lot more user-friendly simply by telling you when the program has connected to a server so you can being searching for media.

The search window is completely packed with options by which you can search by. You can search for simply Audio / Video / Pictures, or you can be more specific in what you are looking for and search for MP3 Audio (any bitrate), or MP3 Audio (specified bitrate),

The results are displayed fairly quickly after you make a search, and there is quite a bit of information available on the searched files, bitrate and all.

Pros : Lots of files, Good options, You can multiple searches, Multi-source downloading, Many advanced features.

Cons : Interface a little unorganized and cluttered, May not be one for the newbie's. Needs more work.
