The MechWarrior 4 Vengeance, Price $49.99 I've seen it on sale for $34.99! If you enjoyed MechWarrior 2 and 3 you'll love MechWarrior 4 Vengeance, the highly anticipated sequel developed by Microsoft's FASA Interactive group, has started to appear on store shelves. MechWarrior 4 weaves heart-pounding BattleMech action with the continuing drama and unfolding storyline of the BattleTech universe. I can remember play MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries for hours. I still have the original box and game CD. OOPS, I forgot to mail in the registration card. I guess it's to late to get that $15. Rebate and free tech support? Oh well.
MechWarrior 4 Review: The combat in Mech 4 is faster--and a bit more difficult--than ever before. It seems to take much more effort and more skill to chop down an enemy Mech. The 30-mission campaign also looks to be the most dynamic one yet for a MechWarrior game. No other game series can provide the same level of raw satisfaction. This action series delivers another 60-ton payload of ground-stompingly good fun. In sleet, or snow, or darkness, we'll get your laser to you. Good news, fellow giant robot fans! Although Microsoft has been vehement about describing MechWarrior: Vengeance as an action game, the fundamental elements that have made the previous mech games so enjoyable have not been radically altered. There have been two major changes to gameplay that seem a bit at odds with each other -- the game moves much faster and yet battles seem much slower -- but the joys and challenges of successfully piloting a gigantic walking tank still remain. This fourth installment of the venerable series is a fine addition to the MechWarrior universe.
The trial version pits gamers against deadly enemy AI bots in a wave battle scenario. The AI bots are highly customizable, allowing players to choose how many and which chassis they'll use, as well as the difficulty level at which they will fight. The trial version features the Frostbite map, as well as four of the 21 'Mechs found in the game. The 'MechLab is fully functional, allowing players to create many variations of these four 'Mechs: the Awesome, Catapult, Uziel, and Raven. The trial version does not have multiplayer support.
